Elysian’s favorite eye shadow palette for fall
Now that the scorching heat of summer is behind us, and we can be fairly certain that our makeup won’t melt off before we get out of the house, it’s got us thinking of about new color palettes for fall. Browns and golds have always been our seasonal go-to because they are great with our autumn essentials: a brown suede jacket and a pumpkin latte.
This fall, we find ourselves turning to Henna, Moon Dust, Coco and Dubai again and again. Nope, they’re not our friends with kooky names, they’re our favorite shades of eye shadow from the Huda Beauty Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palette. Even though Huda announced last summer that the limited-edition Rose Gold Palette was being discontinued, we got a bit of unexpected amnesty when she re-released her new and improved Rose Gold Palette with different packaging and a compact mirror. If you find yourself doing your makeup in unorthodox places as often as we do (in your car, on the subway, sitting on the floor of a friend’s living room), then you know what a mirrored case means to a girl-on-the-go: everything. And that’s just the packaging.
Each of eye shadow formulations in the Rose Gold Palette has been reworked to be easier to apply, more blendable, less likely to cake or break, and more likely to stay on for hours. The metallics are more shimmery and the new texture gives all the shades a more pigmented look. Black Truffle has been reformulated to go on smoothly and stay on, whether applied with a wet brush or a dry one. It’s your ticket to both a Cleopatra-winged eye or a classic smokey eye.
Rose Gold has always been a big hit because we love a palette filled with colors we actually use. Now it’s everything we could have asked for, with 18 perfectly formulated, long wearing shades and an attached mirror. And if we know Huda — the Dubai-based global makeup mogul who got her start as a beauty blogger on YouTube — she probably reformulated the Rose Gold Palette in response to comments from her customers and fans. Huda found her calling in the beauty world, but she studied business administration in college. Yep, that’s why we love her too. She’s smart and beautiful.
