Christin Burdette is a Retail Support Specialist at jane iredale. She began her makeup career while in college studying Interior Design. On a journey to personally find healthy skin, she found jane iredale and quickly witnessed the power of skin care makeup. At 24, she purchased two spas in Virginia and after 5 years of successfully running her spas, she moved to Atlanta to pursue TV, print & lash extension artistry, all while working regularly with the cast from The Real Housewives franchise. Christin realized it was the one-on-one interaction she had with her clients that made her happy — and more importantly, meeting and inspiring others.

When highlighting, you want to be using a color a bit lighter than your skin. This helps create more height and depth as you apply your makeup. Highlighters also come in shimmery forms that help your skin “catch” light without being overpowering.

Circle\Delete Concealer
When concealing, you want to be using a color that will help dimish or accentuate a color on your skin.
To add a healthy color — say, around your cheeks — you would use peach concealer.
To remove an unhealthy color such as dark under eyes or scarring, you would use yellow concealer.

Brow pencils, brow gels or brow powder?
Which to Use, and How to Use Them

Retractable Brow Pencil
The traditional option, with a twist. This brow pencil is retractable!
If you’re familiar with pen-and-paper writing, you’re familiar with this pencil. You should be able to go through with ease of control and precision with this tool. Additionally, the wax base helps hold your brows in place. To apply, make small upward strokes, angling outwards, throughout your brows.

PureBrow Brow Gel
A lighter alternative to Brow Pencils. This is great if you’re on-the-go.
If you’re already happy with the shape of your brows and just need some color added, or just need something to hold them in place, this is your best option.
You may choose to go beyond simply tinting your brow hairs, and color your brows to create more thickness if desired.

GreatShape Eyebrow Kit
For those of you who prefer the Au Naturale look, brow powder might be your holy grail. Brow Powder allows you to create thicker brows without the harshness of pencils and with more control than brow gel. To apply, using your brow brush, dip into the brow powder. tap off the excess powder, and lightly apply to the brows. Again, moving upwards and outwards. To finish, we recommend applying a clear brow gel on top.
