Big Dog Ranch Rescue — the nation’s largest cage-free, no-kill dog rescue — stands as a model for what compassionate, forward-thinking animal welfare can achieve. Since its founding in 2008, the organization has saved more than 85,000 dogs, a testament to its unwavering commitment to lifesaving work. Spanning more than 33 acres, their Loxahatchee, Florida campus is designed to give dogs freedom, dignity, and the space to heal. Instead of traditional kennels, the ranch offers open play yards, climate-controlled bunkhouses, medical facilities, maternity suites for mothers and puppies, and behavioral centers focused on rehabilitation. Every element of the environment is intentional: dogs recover faster, trust more easily, and are better prepared for their forever homes when they are nurtured in a calm, cage-free setting.
Beyond rescue and adoption, Big Dog Ranch Rescue has become an essential support system not only for animals, but for the people who love and rely on them. Their Patriot Pet Boarding Lodge provides free long-term boarding for the pets of deployed service members, ensuring no military family is forced to surrender a beloved companion because of duty. Their Service Dog Training Program goes a step further, training select rescue dogs as service animals for veterans facing PTSD, mobility challenges, and other service-related hardships. These programs honor those who have served, while giving rescued dogs a renewed sense of purpose.
In 2025, the ranch also played a meaningful role in the advancement of critical animal-protection legislation. Governor Ron DeSantis signed two major anti-cruelty laws this year, and Big Dog Ranch Rescue was deeply engaged in supporting and encouraging these measures. Their advocacy, research, and community mobilization helped build the momentum needed to strengthen protections for Florida’s animals. The organization’s leadership frequently serves as a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves, amplifying the importance of stricter enforcement, accountability, and humane standards statewide.
ELYSIAN Impact is deeply grateful to have partnered with this extraordinary organization. Big Dog Ranch Rescue participated in ELYSIAN’s inaugural CatWalk FurBaby during New York Fashion Week, bringing rescued dogs onto a global runway alongside leading designers and philanthropists. Most recently, the ranch collaborated with Nicole Miller for a National Pet Day 2025 bedding collection — a project that blended design, compassion, and awareness, directing widespread attention to the rescue’s mission. These partnerships were not only meaningful but aligned with ELYSIAN’s commitment to celebrating women, service, and purposeful philanthropy.
The ranch will soon host its annual invite-only fundraiser, one of the most anticipated events in the animal-welfare community. A limited number of invitations remain, and this year’s gathering promises to be especially impactful. Chaired by Bob & Perri Bishop and Eric & Laura Trump, the event features several naming and dedication opportunities, including special tributes honoring Attorney General Pam Bondi and recognizing Governor Ron DeSantis for his work advancing animal-cruelty protections. These dedications underscore the ranch’s role as both a lifesaving sanctuary and an influential force in shaping humane policy.
Through its world-class facilities, legislative advocacy, military and veteran support programs, and ongoing partnerships, Big Dog Ranch Rescue continues to redefine what a modern rescue organization can be. ELYSIAN Impact remains honored to support and spotlight their mission — one that elevates not only the lives of dogs, but the wellbeing of the communities they touch.
