December 15, 2025

Carla Berenice Groh is the founder and director of EVEY Art Gallery, established in 2019 and now operating in New York and Palm Beach. In 2024, she expanded the gallery by establishing the EVEY Art Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting cultural initiatives through exhibitions, grants, and community engagement.

An art appraiser and specialist in the global art market, Groh connects her historical expertise with a nuanced understanding of contemporary artistic practice.

Carla received her master’s degree in Archaeology and Egyptology from Basel University, followed by a Ph.D. fellowship at Freiburg with research stays at Stanford and Copenhagen University. Born in Germany to German and Greek parents, Carla was fascinated by Ancient Egypt at a young age and always wanted to be an archaeologist. She has attended several archaeological excavation campaigns in Greece.

In 2005, during her second year of university, Carla began working for and studying under acclaimed antiquities dealer Jean-David Cahn, where she learned everything from building an art fair booth to international trade regulations. During her doctoral fellowship, she worked as an ancient art expert for Fischer Auction House in Lucerne, Switzerland. She later worked at the Kovacek gallery in Vienna, Austria, where she expanded her expertise in baroque to 1950s glass, classic modern and contemporary art.

In 2019, Carla founded her own art brokerage in Vienna & Chicago with the support of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce.

She and her husband live in Palm Beach with their Dachshund, Scipio.
