It’s official: ELYSIAN’s CatWalk FurBaby won Best Fashion Documentary at the New York City International Fashion Film Festival – the latest milestone in a banner year for ELYSIAN, which saw the inaugural CatWalk FurBaby event kick off New York Fashion Week in February.

“What an incredible privilege to win Best Fashion Documentary in an international contest that featured giants like Prada, Gucci, UGG, Vogue, and Ferragamo, to name a few. Thanks to an explosion of online support from around the world, ELYSIAN also placed second in the Social Media/People’s Choice Award to Vogue Italia, which has 7.5 million Instagram followers,” said ELYSIAN Publisher Karen Floyd, the film’s executive producer. “It was a long road to that runway at the iconic Sony Hall, a true David-and-Goliath experience, and we are forever grateful that those efforts were recognized.”

The New York City International Fashion Film Festival is an impressive event that showcases the best of global fashion, along with the most creative and innovative emerging talent, with models, socialites, and designers packing the Dolby Screening Room in Manhattan to enjoy the shows, mingle, and celebrate the creativity on display. The festival also featured the premiere screening of CatWalk FurBaby ahead of the awards ceremony.

The documentary on ELYSIAN’s first fashion show featured rescue animals adorned in trending pet attire alongside models in top-tier designer wares. The event created a buzzy moment during the fashion extravaganza that is New York Fashion Week, highlighted hard-working animal shelters across the country, and hosted a slate of impressive designers who are dedicated to supporting animal welfare.

CatWalk FurBaby tells the story of an idea that evolved through countless hours of hard work, planning, negotiating, and luck, beginning in South Carolina and expanding to include passionate women leaders across the country in the creative, philanthropic, and scientific spaces – all of whom were intrinsically drawn to making a difference at the intersection of animal welfare and fashion.

Celebrating achievements like this, it’s exciting to cherish the small stuff – that text to Mom or Dad when you see your name listed in the credits on the big screen, connecting with ELYSIAN’s extended family and Circle of Women to share in the moment, and that quiet smile to yourself once it all settles in at the end of the night.

The win was the cherry on top of a packed week in New York. Ahead of the festival, ELYSIAN launched our Fall 2023 Art Issue and cover reveal featuring Dr. Christina Rahm at the renowned National Arts Club. This impressive multihyphenate woman is the perfect embodiment of the ELYSIAN ethos.

The celebration continued with intimate connections over coffee and chocolates at the trendy boutique chocolatier MarieBelle, a woman-owned business with the kind of story that lets you know the love and dedication put into each bite. The decadent chocolates were paired with the exquisite Rahm Roast, a special blend formulated by Dr. Rahm after years of research. Made from single-source beans grown in an organic region of Guatemala, the all-natural formula creates the cleanest, purest cup of coffee you will ever enjoy.

These exclusive experiences, curated for members of the ELYSIAN Circle, are designed to delight curious, adventurous and multifaceted women. As we look back at a successful week celebrating each other and the intersection of art, fashion, and film, we invite anyone looking to add delightful excursions like this to your social calendar to join our Circle of Women ahead of our next adventure.
