Founded by Michele Bolinger, Forever Amber Acres in Medina, Ohio emerged from a deeply personal journey through loss and resilience. In 2006, after rescuing her first horse—a spirited Thoroughbred mare named “Forever Amber”—Michele discovered the profound healing potential of horses. Witnessing the bond that formed between human and horse, she realized that these animals could offer more than companionship—they could help restore hope, trust, and emotional strength. Michele’s mission soon became clear: give a voice to voiceless horses, many of whom had experienced trauma and were on a path to slaughter, while simultaneously providing a sanctuary where human lives could be transformed.
