Do you ever get to the spa and wish you could linger a little longer or extend the experience?

If you’re like me, there is never a long-enough spa day. More and more, spas, resorts and wellness centers are moving toward non-touch services and experiences. You’ve probably seen an infrared sauna or salt room, but if not, you’re missing out. In a world that is increasingly complex and full of sensory overload, escaping from technology and finding inner peace is becoming a necessity, and for good reason.

Non-touch spa services have become increasingly popular in recent years, offering clients a safe and effective way to improve their health and relaxation. These services have gained even more popularity during the pandemic, as people became more cautious about physical contact. As staffing remains a struggle and the demand for wellness is at an all-time high, non-touch services help fill the gap and extend the spa experience. I personally love to indulge in as many add-on options as possible when booking a spa day. Here are just a few of my favorites!

Halotherapy

Halotherapy, also known as salt therapy, is a non-invasive treatment that involves inhaling salt particles. The salt is believed to have therapeutic properties that can help to improve respiratory function, boost the immune system, and reduce stress levels. Halotherapy is an excellent option for those with respiratory problems or allergies, as it can help to clear the airways and improve breathing. I love halotherapy because it makes me feel grounded, like being on a beach, and the salt helps open my sinuses and makes me feel like I’ve had a little vacation. Check out this Vitality Booth that combines salt and red light technology, which many people choose to exercise in as well.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils to promote physical and emotional wellbeing. Essential oils can be inhaled or applied topically to the skin. They are believed to have therapeutic properties that can help to reduce stress, boost energy levels, and improve overall health. Aromatherapy can be used in combination with other spa treatments, such as massage or facials, to enhance the benefits. My favorite aroma is eucalyptus, and I like to spray it before every shower and bath. I like it so much, I always travel with it. Here is the one I use.

Infrared Saunas

Infrared saunas use infrared light to heat the body directly. Unlike traditional saunas, which heat the air around you, infrared saunas penetrate deeper into the skin, providing a more effective and efficient form of heat therapy. Infrared saunas can help to reduce muscle tension, boost the immune system, and improve cardiovascular health. They are an excellent option for those who want to detoxify their body or relax after a long day. You can even combine both salt and infrared technology and bring the benefits to your home. Check out this Halo IR.

Hydromassage

Hydromassage is a non-invasive treatment that involves the use of water to massage the body. Hydromassage can help to reduce muscle tension, improve circulation, and relieve stress. It is an excellent option for those who want to relax and alleviate muscle pain. Hydromassage is often used in combination with other spa treatments, such as facials or body scrubs, to enhance the benefits. The best part is, you don’t get wet! Vibroacoustic Therapy

Vibroacoustic therapy involves the use of sound waves to massage the body. It can help to reduce stress levels, improve circulation, and alleviate pain. Vibroacoustic therapy is an excellent option for those who suffer from chronic pain or anxiety. Acoustic and vibrational technology trains the brain to relax and benefit from deep relaxation techniques by using specific vibrations and binaural audio frequencies. I got to experience this at the Gharieni showroom at the Marriott Turnberry Resort. I found it incredibly relaxing and transformative. Check out this Gharieni MLW Amphibia Welnamis experience.

Float Spas

Float spas, also known as sensory deprivation tanks, are filled with a solution of warm water and Epsom salt. This creates a weightless environment that allows you to relax and float effortlessly. Float spas can help to reduce stress levels, improve sleep quality, and enhance mental clarity. They are an excellent option for those who want to disconnect from the stresses of daily life. It’s a very interesting and relaxing experience. It feels a little futuristic and as if you’re floating in a huge egg. I got to experience this firsthand and really enjoyed the light, music, and meditative qualities. Side note… You do get wet, so keep this in mind if you’re heading anywhere important afterward. Check out the True REST Float Spa here.

Non-touch spa services offer a wide range of benefits for those looking to improve their health and relaxation. Many resorts all over the globe are now offering complete Wellness Journeys, and most of these incorporate non-touch experiences, as well as incredibly unique and restorative wellness therapies. So, the next time you’re at the spa, stay a while and try and get the most of your wellness journey. You’re worth it.
