Cori Lefkowith is a fitness expert and an entrepreneur best known as the creator of the Burner System fitness program. She is the owner of the Redefining Strength gym featuring programs that target specific areas of the body including core, arms and glutes.
1: What is one thing you can’t live without?
Can it be a living thing?! If so, Kiwi and probably Ryan (just kidding…definitely Ryan too). Both of them are my happiness and my support and I’m counting them as one thing – my family!
In terms of non-living things, my lacrosse ball. It’s the perfect tool to get rid of any sore or tight and achy muscles!
2: Why is it important for women to support women?
If we want to have more women in power, if we want women to get the same pay and respect, we need to do everything to support each other and lift each other up. By helping push each other forward, we can all grow and gain!
A rising tide floats all boats!
3: If you could spend the day with anyone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Jane Fonda. I used to watch my mom doing her videos and I think she inspired a whole generation of women to exercise. She told us that it’s never too late to start!
4: What has been the most rewarding project of your career?
Honestly, creating my first online program ever, the Booty Burner, which is still my most popular program.
It’s a simple program, but it has provided so many people around the world with that “AHA moment” that helped them start training smarter. There is nothing more rewarding than empowering someone so they can feel and move better.
There is nothing better than seeing something click and having a client finally understand what they should feel working so they can FINALLY get rid of nagging aches and pains!

5: When were you happiest?
Life just keeps getting better. Every day I meet someone new and amazing and inspiring! I’d like to think the best is always yet to come!
6: What is the worst job you’ve done?
I would say being my own gym cleaner. Holy cow does it stink trying to mop up gym chalk! Mopping it up just seems to spread it around for hours before finally cleaning it up!
7: Where is one place in the world you would love to visit next?
I really want to go back to Tokyo. But I think next up is Australia which I’m super excited for, especially to meet some of my online clients I’ve only met digitally!
8: How do you relax?
I love beach walks with Ryan and Kiwi, hanging out playing pool or even binge watching netflix.
But honestly, I love what I do. I find even talking about future plans for my business or the successes of my clients just invigorates me to do more!

9: What is your daily skincare routine?
I really wish I had one. Right now I’m pretty stoked if I just wash my face daily!
10: What is your most cherished beauty product?
Does deodorant count!?
11: Favorite accessory and why?
I love my Qalo rings because I can mix and match colors. They are so comfortable I honestly never wear my other wedding rings! And I love matching them to my nail polish whenever possible!
12: What is your favorite high end brand to splurge on?
I’m obsessed with Lorna Jane Activewear. When I get “dressed up,” I put on my nicer Lorna Jane outfits!
13: What is the biggest misconception about your profession?
That we spend hours a day working out ourselves and are always motivated. Honestly, I practice what I preach, and I rarely train even a full hour. And I can tell you, often trainers are their own worst clients as well!
14: Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
Butthead.
Does that make sense?
AKA…(not also known as. I actually say AKA)
Also, if you’ve ever watched my YouTube videos you’ll be able to repeat the end of my intro by memory….
“If you like the video, make sure to like it. Comment below if you have any questions and subscribe, we’re posting new videos each week. ENJOY!”
15: What trait do you most admire in others?
I admire anyone with the dedication to pursue their passion, who is resilient in the face of adversity. It is extremely difficult to continually pick yourself back up after setbacks to continue to do what you love.
And I have incredible respect for anyone that can take criticism in stride without becoming defensive. I admire this so much because it is definitely something I’m continually working on!
16: Who would play you in the film of your life?
I sincerely hope that Andrea Savage would agree to play me. Partly because I would then get to meet her (I love her show I’m Sorry) and partly because she is far funnier than I am…I’m nearly as inappropriate as she is…just not with her amazing sense of humor!
17: How would you like to be remembered?
I don’t necessarily have any dreams of being remembered by future generations. I just hope I’ve changed people’s lives and helped them feel stronger and more empowered. I want THEM to be inspired to change others lives themselves!
18: What made you open your own gym up?
Fitness has always been empowering to me. It helped me find my voice and my strength.
I started Redefining Strength so I could inspire others to do the same. I wanted them to redefine what strong means to them!
19: Can you tell us about your fitness program Burner System?
The number one excuse I hear is, “I’m too busy.”
And honestly, it’s a valid excuse. We are all super busy. But we CAN get the results we want, we just need a plan that takes into account our crazy busy lives!
And that’s why I created my Burner Workouts. These quick workouts can be done anywhere so that you can get the results you deserve.
Here’s one of my favorite 5-Minute Lower Ab Burners.
20: What has your experience been since starting a Youtube channel — any surprises?
YouTube has been amazing and fun…with some interesting…uhm…trolls haha.
Also, variations videos, especially ones that target the same muscle group, can make you more sore than you realize. In your head you’re just demonstrating 20 push up variations. But in reality you’re doing like 200 push ups back to back and it’s a workout!
21: Have you always been passionate about fitness?
My mom says I loved exercise even as a baby. I would sit in my bouncy swing and just watch her workout.
And I’ve always had a passion for challenging my body and testing my limits, whether it was on the tennis court or in the gym!

22: Who is Cori Lefkowith’s inspiration?
Honestly, my clients inspire me every single day.
It’s hard to keep pushing forward through the ups and downs. And it’s hard to even put our personal feelings and situations aside to help others and be there when others need us.
But everyone in the Redefining Strength community shares of themselves and is always there to help another in need.
If that isn’t inspiring, I don’t know what is!
