Meet Your New Best Friend at a Watch Party Like No Other

On the evening of May 9, as part of ELYSIAN’s 10-year anniversary celebration, something extraordinary will happen in Spartanburg. Amid the celebration, clinking glasses, and glittering lights, a few very special guests of honor will be waiting patiently—not for autographs, but for forever homes.

The kickoff event for ELYSIAN’s milestone weekend isn’t just a glamorous party—it’s a heartfelt benefit for the Spartanburg Humane Society. This year, the spotlight will shine even brighter thanks to a special watch party featuring CatWalk FurBaby 2, a documentary chronicling the making of the second annual CatWalk FurBaby fashion show, which originally launched New York Fashion Week 2024 and featured several rescues from the Spartanburg Humane Society strutting their stuff on the runway.

Merci Dupre Clothiers, known for blending style with purpose by crafting fashion that protects both people and the planet, will also take the stage with a runway show featuring their latest couture looks.

But the real stars of the evening? They walk on four legs.

Several adoptable dogs from the Spartanburg Humane Society will be in attendance, charming guests with their joyful tails, hopeful eyes, and loving spirits. Each pup has a unique story—and each is ready to begin a new chapter.

Meet Penny, a calm and affectionate companion who finds contentment in the simplest pleasures. After a short stroll, she’s happiest curled up in a cozy lap for a long, peaceful nap. Penny is gentle when taking treats and walks beautifully on a leash. While she may prefer calmer canine companions, she’s open to meeting potential furry siblings at the shelter to see if the fit feels right. With a heart full of love, Penny is looking for a family to call her own.

Then there’s Saint, a three-year-old Retriever mix who embodies friendliness and devotion. Protective and adventurous, Saint enjoys burying treats, exploring on walks, and showing off his smarts—he already knows “sit” and “leave it” and is eager to learn more. His ideal home would include gentle, dainty canine friends as he continues to discover the joy of playtime.

Say hello to Heaven, a striking five-year-old Pit mix with a unique white and brindle coat. One of the shelter’s longest residents, Heaven arrived in 2021 and has since won hearts with her playful energy and tender nature. She thrives in playgroups with other dogs and adores one-on-one time with her favorite humans, offering sweet hugs and kisses once she feels safe and secure. While she needs a little extra patience warming up to new people and should be fed separately from other pets, Heaven’s transition into a loving home promises to be seamless—and deeply rewarding.

Adoptable guests will be mingling with attendees throughout the evening, creating opportunities for meaningful, life-changing connections.

Beyond the chance to adopt, the evening serves a dual purpose. The CatWalk FurBaby watch party—the first of its kind—gives guests a front-row seat to a heartwarming showcase where adoptable animals from across the country walked the runway alongside fashion models, raising awareness and funds for more than 20 charities.

It’s a celebration of compassion in all its forms—glamour paired with generosity, and style infused with purpose.

All proceeds from the evening’s silent auction will benefit the Spartanburg Humane Society, which is currently launching a capital campaign to build a new, state-of-the-art facility that will transform animal care in the community.
