ELYSIAN’s Mind, Body, Spirit Retreat unfolded as a luminous celebration of renewal, connection, and conscious living—an intimate gathering designed to honor the launch of ELYSIAN’s Spring Issue. Held on Saturday, February 7, the retreat took place at Tara Sherbert’s private three-story sanctuary overlooking the shimmering waters of Lake Wylie, a setting that felt both grounding and expansive, serene yet alive with possibility.
From the moment guests arrived, they were enveloped in calm. Sunlight streamed through the retreat’s sleek, modern open-concept design, illuminating every level and framing uninterrupted views of the lake beyond. The gentle sparkle of water below set the tone for a day devoted to awakening—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
The morning began outdoors, where attendees gathered on yoga mats along the infinity pool’s natural wood terrace. As the sun warmed the space, an invigorating yoga practice lead by Leslie Schwake invited guests to move with intention and ease, awakening the body while remaining deeply connected to breath and presence. Others chose to open the day with a guided breathwork experience lead by Lori R. Taylor, grounding themselves through conscious breathing and mindful awareness.
Following these opening rituals, attendees enjoyed hot tea and coffee alongside a curated organic, locally sourced breakfast before transitioning into smaller, intimate groups for guided wellness segments.
The morning sessions featured a distinguished group of experts. Dr. Jamie Ramsey, Founder of Ramsey Modern Wellness, shared insights on women’s health across all stages of life, emphasizing longevity tied to quality of life and the importance of comprehensive care under one physician. Dr. April Spencer, founder of Dr. Spencer’s Global Breast Health & Wellness Center and ELYSIAN’s Spring Cover Model, explored the powerful connection between environment and cancer, offering practical ways to identify and eliminate toxins—physical, emotional, and social—from everyday life. Lori R. Taylor, author, speaker, artist, entrepreneur, and visionary returned to guide participants through visualization and manifestation techniques, teaching how intention, focus, and energy alignment can help bring desired goals into reality. Shawn O’Keefe, PA-C, CEO and Founder of Twenty-One Medical, discussed the therapeutic and cosmetic benefits of Botox, offering thoughtful education in a supportive setting.
As the morning sessions came to a close, guests gathered in the expansive main living space for a beautifully curated organic lunch. Featuring a selection of fresh, nutrient-dense ingredients, the salad experience was designed to restore and energize. During lunch, host Tara Sherbert led a demonstration and tasting highlighting the revitalizing power of cold-pressed juicing and how fresh, nutrient-rich juices can support energy, vitality, and overall wellness.
The afternoon sessions continued the journey of discovery. Shani Caviness, PA-C, from Optimal Self MD introduced attendees to CO₂ laser therapy for intimate wellness and Ellacor’s FDA-cleared Micro-Coring™ Technology for natural skin rejuvenation. Dr. Brandy Chapman, Founder of Carolina Spine & Health, taught and demonstrated specialized chiropractic exercises designed to support women’s spinal health, recovery, and long-term alignment. Jocelyn Rahm, Founder of Deep Waters, guided a deeply reflective segment on presence, compassion, the awakened heart, and the divine feminine, offering both insight and a guided meditation. Dr. Christina Rahm, Founder & CEO of DRC Ventures and Chief Science Formulator of The Root Brands, led a powerful discussion on detoxification, cellular health, and the role proper detox plays in disease prevention.
Throughout the day, the setting itself became a silent collaborator in the experience. Its openness invited honest dialogue, introspection, and meaningful connection. Within this space, something rare and deeply resonant emerged—a quiet magic among women. There was an unspoken strength, a shared knowing, and a gentle lifting of one another that required no words.
ELYSIAN’s Mind, Body, Spirit Retreat was more than a gathering; it was a moment of collective pause, growth, and renewal. It served as a powerful reminder that when women come together with open hearts and curious minds, transformation arises naturally and with grace.
ELYSIAN extends its deepest gratitude to Tara Sherbert and The Sherbert Group for opening their extraordinary retreat and so thoughtfully cultivating an environment that invited presence, connection, and wellbeing. The space itself became an essential part of the journey—effortlessly encouraging reflection and authenticity, and allowing the retreat’s intention to unfold beautifully. ELYSIAN also wishes to thank its sponsors, Discover South Carolina, The Root Brands, and DRC Ventures, for their continued support in bringing this experience to life.
