An Evening of Couture and Compassion at the National Arts Club

by Amber Edwards

On a crisp February 6, 2025 evening, Manhattan’s historic National Arts Club in Gramercy Park provided the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable night of philanthropy, fashion, and artistic celebration. As snow traces lined the sidewalks, an international gathering of designers, models, and philanthropic visionaries braved the cold to witness the exclusive launch of ELYSIAN’s Spring Philanthropy & Fashion Issue. This elegant affair brought together the creative and charitable forces that made the 2024 CatWalk FurBaby Fashion Show at New York Fashion Week a resounding success.

The evening commenced on the mezzanine level, where guests sipped cocktails and engaged in spirited conversations, sharing in the anticipation of the second CatWalk FurBaby Documentary’s first exclusive screening. The film offered an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at how a dedicated team from Spartanburg, SC, brought a vision to life—uniting the worlds of fashion and philanthropy to support over 20 charitable organizations. Producers Karen Floyd, Dr. Christina Rahm, Clayton Thomas, and Dr. Kimberly Word were in attendance, proudly unveiling the film to an audience eager to relive the triumphs and touching moments that defined the event.

As the documentary played, laughter filled the room as attendees delighted in the heartwarming challenges of transporting Spartanburg Humane Society’s four-legged stars to the bustling heart of New York City. Sentimental “oohs” and “ahhs” echoed as models and their canine companions strutted the runway, each representing a worthy cause. The film beautifully captured the dedication, collaboration, and joy that defined the 2024 CatWalk FurBaby event.

Following the screening, the cover reveal of ELYSIAN’s Spring Philanthropy & Fashion Issue captivated the audience. The legendary Loretta Swit, famed for her role in M*A*S*H (1972–1983), graced the cover. Loretta also participated in the 2024 CatWalk FurBaby New York Fashion Week show, representing the Honoring America’s Veterans organization. Acclaimed designer Johnathan Kayne designed her exquisite gown for the show, a fitting tribute to her timeless elegance and humanitarian spirit. On the back cover, Dr. Kimberly Word, an esteemed animal philanthropist and founder of Blissfully Living, shined as a beacon of inspiration.

To elevate the evening’s luxury experience, Dr. Word graciously provided lavish ‘Bliss Out’ gift bags for attendees, adding a touch of opulence to an already exquisite event. Guests then gathered downstairs to indulge in an array of hors d’oeuvres, handcrafted cocktails, and a signature drink featuring the indulgent fusion of Rahm Roast Coffee and MarieBelle Chocolate. As a final highlight, Loretta Swit personally signed copies of the magazine, making for a cherished memento of the night.

ELYSIAN was honored to present the second CatWalk FurBaby Documentary alongside esteemed partners The Root Brands, DRC Ventures, and Merci Dupre Clothier, a leader in sustainable, high-quality fashion. Special thanks to our launch sponsors—Blissfully Living by Dr. Kimberly Word, BioLight, Bill & Coo, and Discover South Carolina—whose support helped bring this extraordinary evening to life. A true celebration of fashion, philanthropy, and artistic expression, the event was a testament to the power of collective impact, leaving guests inspired and eager for the next chapter in ELYSIAN’s ever-evolving journey.
