Helping animal shelters around the country care for homeless pets is a noble cause that resonates deeply with ELYSIAN Impact. One of our esteemed partners in this mission is BISSELL Pet Foundation, an organization dedicated to reducing the number of animals in shelters and rescues and finding them loving homes.

Founded in 2011 by Cathy Bissell, BISSELL Pet Foundation emerged from her profound love for pets and a desire to make a significant difference in animal welfare across the country. The story began in 2008 when Cathy adopted her first dog, Bear, from a local Humane Society. This experience, along with subsequent adoptions of numerous dogs—currently Taz, Mo, Zoey, Ranger, and Hank—fueled her commitment to helping more pets find the care and homes they deserve.

BISSELL Pet Foundation’s mission is straightforward yet impactful: to reduce the number of animals in shelters through a multi-faceted approach that includes pet adoption, spay/neuter programs, vaccinations, emergency services, adoption, spay/neuter, crisis and disaster, transport, vaccinations, and microchipping. The foundation has awarded millions of dollars to an extensive network of animal welfare organizations across all 50 states and Canada, aiding underserved communities and ensuring that more pets find their way into loving homes. Each year, between six and seven million pets enter shelters in the United States, and tragically, over one million are euthanized due to a lack of homes and resources.

ELYSIAN Impact’s partnership with BISSELL Pet Foundation is a testament to our commitment to making a difference in the lives of pets and the people who care for them. The foundation was a pivotal partner in the inaugural CatWalk FurBaby event, a unique fashion show that benefitted animal welfare organizations across the country. This event, which kicked of 2023 New York Fashion Week, featured rescue animals adorned in trendy pet fashion alongside models in designer clothing. The event was not only a celebration of fashion but also a significant fundraiser that highlighted the importance of pet adoption and support for shelters. The success of CatWalk FurBaby, captured in an award-winning documentary, showcases the powerful impact of collaborative efforts in promoting animal welfare.

As we continue this journey, we are proud to support BISSELL Pet Foundation’s lifesaving work and look forward to many more success stories of pets finding their homes.
