Four-and-a-half miles of Big Creek flow through a 17,000-acre piece of paradise that has been home to Mountain Sky Guest Ranch since 1929, when it was established as one of Montana’s original dude ranches. The clear, rushing waters are plentiful with brown trout. The trails running through neighboring Gallatin National Forest are among the world’s greatest natural wonders, and the casual lodging, fine dining, and hospitality are legendary. We are told that a guest comes for the “cowboy experience,” but leaves a member of the Sky Ranch family.
That’s our plan for Friday, May 6th, when ELYSIAN publisher and founder Karen Floyd hosts a relaxed, rustic Montana weekend for our special guests and friends as we launch our Summer 2022 “Green” Issue at Mountain Sky Guest Ranch. Pack your cowboy boots and jeans and fly into Bozeman, where you’ll be met and driven to the ranch. We’ll gather at 6 PM for a western-style farm-to-table dinner, and afterwards, explore the ranch, enjoy a round of pool, and have a nightcap before going to bed in one of Mountain Sky’s seven one-, two-, and three-bedroom luxury guest cottages.
Saturday starts with a morning yoga session at the ranch’s Wellness Center for those who wish, before the group gathers for breakfast. After that, the morning is yours to arrange horseback riding, hiking, fly-fishing, golf, archery, clay shooting, white water rafting, or a massage.
Then after lunch, we depart for further adventures in Bozeman, so while our time at Mountain Sky Ranch may be brief, it will give you a fabulous opportunity to plan your return with your family for a week-long package, available this summer from June 12–August 28.
