At the heart of CatWalk FurBaby are the rescue organizations whose dedication transforms the lives of countless animals every day. From providing emergency medical care and shelter to facilitating adoptions and advocating for animal welfare, these remarkable nonprofits embody the spirit of compassion that defines this event. We are honored to feature this year’s participating rescues, each of which is making an extraordinary impact in communities across the country. As you learn more about their missions, we invite you to celebrate their work and support the lifesaving efforts they champion year-round.

BARC-CT Bridgeport Animal Rescue Crew is an animal rescue and advocacy organization dedicated to helping local dogs in need while giving a voice to all animals. Through rescue, education, and advocacy, BARC-CT strengthens local communities and creates a ripple effect of compassion throughout Connecticut. They believe every animal matters and deserves to be heard. More than a rescue organization, BARC-CT is a movement—one committed to creating a more humane future for animals and the people who care for them.

Big Dog Ranch Rescue was founded in 2008 and is the LARGEST, Cage-Free, NO-KILL dog rescue in the U.S. and has saved more than 88,000 dogs through its commitment to rescue, rehabilitation, education, and advocacy. With a goal of saving 10,000 dogs each year, the organization provides lifesaving medical care and specialized procedures before placing dogs with loving families. Guided by the belief that every dog deserves a safe and loving home, Big Dog Ranch Rescue works tirelessly through strategic partnerships, community education, and legislative efforts to create a future free from animal homelessness and abuse.

Companion Animal Alliance (CAA) was founded in 2010 by a group of advocates who had a passion for animal welfare in the Baton Rouge area and a vision to increase the save rate of animals in our community. CAA operates as the only open-intake animal shelter in East Baton Rouge Parish, caring for approximately 9,000 animals each year, including cats, dogs, livestock, and other domestic house-pets, and even wildlife. Their mission is to reduce the number of animals entering shelters, increase spay/neuter efforts, treat animals in our care humanely, find loving homes, and return lost pets to their owners.

Final Victory Animal Rescue is on a mission to give cats and dogs a positive experience after a traumatic time in the shelter, neglected homes, or living on the streets. Through their facility, expansive fostering community, volunteers, and transport connections, they give pets final victories by helping them find safe, loving homes in South Carolina and across the entire East Coast.

Foster, Adopt, Rescue, Transport (F.A.R.T.) is not just an amusing acronym, but a passionate initiative committed to making a positive impact in the lives of animals in need. Their mission is simple: to provide a platform for animals in need to be seen and their voices to be heard by utilizing the power of social media. Through rescue advocacy, networking, and community support, they help connect homeless animals with loving families, giving countless dogs and cats the opportunity to find their forever home.

NYC Second Chance Rescue was founded in 2009 and is dedicated to giving vulnerable animals a new beginning. With the support of its community of donors and advocates, the organization has saved more than 17,000 dogs and cats from unimaginable circumstances. Focusing on large-breed dogs and animals requiring critical lifesaving care, Second Chance Rescue specializes in helping those most at risk—nine out of ten animals they save were once scheduled for euthanasia in New York City municipal shelters.

Operation Kindness is a Texas pioneer in providing lifesaving care, compassion, and second chances to pets in need. As a no-kill animal shelter, the organization is dedicated to helping animals receive the veterinary care, companionship, and loving forever homes they deserve. Beyond pet adoptions and critical medical treatment, they offer foster programs for vulnerable animals, affordable veterinary services, pet-parent resources, a pet food pantry, and volunteer opportunities that strengthen the human-animal bond. Through its comprehensive approach to animal welfare, Operation Kindness is creating a kinder, more compassionate world for pets and the people who love them.
